Principal's Corner

Middle school is a wonderful time for students to discover their talents, expand their academic knowledge and ultimately become equipped for their transition to high school. While our GMS experience has been different due to the global pandemic, GMS is committed to providing a secure, engaging and rigorous learning environment where all students can excel. We welcome you and hope your experience at GMS will be a good one.

Our GMS Parent/Student handbook is uploaded on the GMS website. You can access it in the Parent/Student information section. It is a great resource to help familiarize students and parents with the policies, procedures and rules that will help all students to be successful at GMS. We expect our students to follow these rules. If you have any questions, please refer to this handbook. You will find it filled with important information.

Although the handbook is very detailed, two words can be used to guide best behavior practices at our school…respect and responsibility. Be respectful of yourself and others. Accept responsibility to be the best person that you can possibly be. To ensure a good beginning to your school year, take time now to go over the handbook and learn about your school. We ask that you discuss the contents of this handbook with your parents. Please complete the form, which verifies that you and your parent/guardian have received, read and understand the 2020-2021 Griswold Middle School Student/Parent Handbook and return it to your homeroom teacher.

The Griswold community is very proud of our school. Our teachers are highly skilled professionals who are dedicated to making this school year a successful one for you. We value our students and families and look forward to working together this upcoming year.

I challenge each of you to work hard and get involved. If you have any questions about our school, please ask. You can ask me, your teachers and/or call the GMS office. If we don’t know the answer, we will find it for you. We are looking forward to a fantastic school year.
