Principal, Mr. Louis Zubek

Mr. Zubek was appointed GMS Principal during the November 23, 2020 Board of Education meeting after serving as Interim Principal, after Mr. LaBossiere's departure, and Assistant Principal during the 2019-2020 school year. 

Mr. Zubek  has a rich background in academics and school-community involvement. A Math Teacher with over 13 years of experience at Lyme-Old Lyme High School, Mr. Zubek has been involved in many initiatives including NEASC, Data Teams, Learning Walks, SRBI, and curriculum writing, development, and implementation. Additionally, Mr. Zubek has been a basketball and crew coach, a club advisor, and a new teacher mentor. Mr. Zubek holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Springfield College, an M.S. in Education from the University of New Haven, and a 092 Certificate from Sacred Heart University.

Assistant Principal, Mr. Jeff Parkinson

Mr. Parkinson was appointed as Griswold Middle Schools Assistant Principal in August of 2021.  Prior to joining the team in Griswold he was a high school mathematics teacher for seventeen years at Plainfield and Stonington High School.  During his time as an educator he has also been a Head Track and Field and Cross Country Coach, as well as an Assistant Football Coach.

Mr. Parkinson’s leadership development experiences include chairing a NEASC accreditation subcommittee on assessment; actively participating in the formation of the district Vision of the Graduate; and serving on a district committee for math curriculum development and instruction.  He holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Connecticut, a M.S. in Educational Studies from Eastern Connecticut State University, and an 092 Administrator Certificate from Sacred Heart University.
