Hello! My name is Jessica Simoneau. I've been part of the GES Support Team as the School Counselor since 2016. Prior to becoming the School Counselor, I was a Kindergarten and 4th grade teacher here at GES! I have over 10 years of experience working in elementary schools and I have landed at the very best one. Much of my expertise includes; crisis management, behavior modification and management, school-adjustment counseling, social skill development, family outreach, and management of 504 plans for individual students. I strive to continue to dedicate my support in assisting students and their families on how to manage emotions and decisions in this ever-changing world. My interests include listening to podcasts, exercising, and watching a good documentary.
Steven Wasilewski, CAGS, LPC
Hi! My name is Steve Wasilewski and I have been a school psychologist in Griswold since 2018. I have also worked with adults in behavioral health treatment in outpatient and emergency services settings. In my work, I most enjoy helping children learn how they can be responsible members of the school and their community, and finding projects for students to participate in that will achieve that goal.
School Social Worker
Hi there! My name is Alyssa Hancock and I am the school social worker at Griswold Elementary School. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Springfield College. I have been actively working in the field since 2016 across multiple settings. Prior to becoming the school social worker, I had experience working in residential programs, substance use programs and in a hospital setting, doing both individualized therapy and family therapy. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with children and adolescents who struggle with mental health and behavioral concerns. I am passionate about my work and strive to help students manage their difficult emotions in a healthy and safe way. My overall goal is to create a safe place that allows the students to explore their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, cutting out negative patterns, and leading them to personal growth. My interests include coaching, decorating my home throughout the seasons, and spending time with loved ones.
Social Emotional Interventionist
Hi! My name is Aimee Boyd Hall and I joined the GES Support Team in 2022 as the Social Emotional Interventionist. I come to GES with a decade of student support experience including conflict resolution, behavioral accountability, social skill development, and building confidence through a positive self-image. I grew up in this incredible community and attended Griswold Public Schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade where I gained the skills needed to succeed in my education and career. I am happy to be “home” and giving my time and attention to a place that is so special to me. As a parent, I know how difficult it is to raise children in our complicated world, and I am here for you and your family to help your student feel supported in finding themselves and connecting with their peers. My interests include thrift shopping, making crafts, and catching up with friends over coffee.
