ATTENTION JUNIORS PROM-GOERS: WE ARE IN NEED OF WHITE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS. IF YOU ARE ABLE TO LEND THEM OUT FOR THE PROM THIS SATURDAY PLEASE CONTACT MRS. TRUDELLE ASAP. THEY ARE NEEDED FOR TOMORROW AFTER SCHOOL! ALL LIGHTS WILL BE RETURNED ON MONDAY OF NEXT WEEK.

The next round of the Poetry Slam will be Friday, May 17 during activity period in the television studio. See Mr. Moore to be part of the studio audience. Eight poets move forward to round two of the poetry slam: Mike Delamater, Jermaine Frazer, Gabby Garza, Katrina Landry, Tiara Lussier, Philip Michelle, Jamie Wilbur and Andrew Laro. Congratulations to all who bared their souls and made this a wicked cool slam.

This is a message for all of Mr. Moore’s period D English class today: We’re walking to downtown to collect data for our poems. Bring comfy shoes.

Attention Student Council members: There will be a Student Council meeting on Monday. All members are urged to attend in order to vote on the final 3 Executive Board positions and the Wolverine Cares Award. Please see Mrs. Cholewa or Mrs. Hatajik for a pass by Friday.

Chamber Choir, Concert Choir and Women’s Choir auditions will be held Tuesday May 28th. Sign up for a time outside of the chorus room. No previous experience needed for Concert nor Women’s Choir.

Attentions Seniors, money doesn't grow on trees! NOT one application was received from a GHS senior for the John T. Rooke scholarship. If you have the scholarship, finish it ASAP and mail it.  Stop down to guidance to pick up a copy or fine info on the griswold high school website under guidance, scholarships.

Attention all student council members:  This Friday’s meeting during activity period will be held in the chorus room.   It is important that all members attend this meeting.  We will be meeting with Mr. Smith to discuss an honor code.  In addition nominations will be taken for the 3 remaining executive board positions as well as the wolverine cares award.  Please make every effort to be in attendance.

Attention seniors going on the class trip who have not turned in a roommate card – Mrs. Keane needs those today. Any senior who has not chosen roommates will be placed in a room at random.

ATTENTION SENIORS ..Just 1 day left (May 17)  TO REGISTER FOR PROJECT SAFE GRAD AFTER GRAD PARTY – The GHS Project Safe Grad Committee of parents have been busy raising funds to host a  safe, fun filled party for YOU after graduation.  SENIORS attending THE AFTER GRADUATION PARTY will have a chance to win a 32 inch flat screen HD TV donated by Cardinal Honda and other prizes. Cost is $60.

Another week, another school record goes down.  Abby Slonski bettered her own school record in the triple jump with a leap of 35' 9.5".  On top of that, Abby took two more titles home with wins in the javelin and long jump.  Additional top finishers were Alyssa Brehler grabbing the runner up spot in the 1600 and Adam Rock taking the shot put title.  GHS Track is back in action this coming Saturday at the ECC Championships at Montville High School.

Attention Student Match BIGS: Please pick up your student match t-shirt in the Career Center before our year-end event on May 29th.  Also, remember to bring in your permission slips for this event.  If you did not get a permission slip or have misplaced it, please see Mrs. Johanessen.  It's been a great year for Student Match. Thanks to all of you who have volunteered your time!

Attention seniors  - Mrs. Keane and Mrs. Hosmer are taking nominations for the class speaker. The individual selected will address the class at the Senior Awards program. He/she should be able to articulate the views most commonly shared by the Class of 2012. Also we will be taking nominations for the Senior Prom Court. Nomination sheets will be outside Mrs. Keane and Mrs. Hosmer’s room.

The Give a Senior a Kiss event runs until May 17th. Send a nice note and three kisses to a member of the senior class wishing them luck after graduation. Kisses are $1 and can be purchased by ANYONE. Buy one at lunch today!

Attention GMS volunteers!  GMS misses you! The number of student volunteers going over during WEB has significantly decreased since spring break.  This is a valuable program between our two schools, and the 6th graders and their teachers appreciate your help and would like to get the program back on track.  If you are signed up to volunteer and can fit one or more days per week into your schedule, please consider doing so.  See Mrs. Johanessen with any questions or concerns.

Attention Advanced Placement Test Takers of 2013: In July, your AP Scores will only be available online, you will not receive scores in the mail. To get your scores, you must sign up for a free College Board Account at apscore.org. If you registered online for the SAT or subject tests, you already have a collegeboard account!!! Again, AP scores will only be available online this year so make sure you have a College board account!

CHRISTOPHER POTVIN SCHOLARSHIP is now available to seniors! Are you a good student and  a varsity athlete who is respected for being a team player? Complete the Christopher Potvin Scholarship at www.chrispotvinfund.com   It’s a $1000 award.

Interested in careers related to animal science or veterinary medicine? Three Rivers Community College has a VET ASSISTANT PROGRAM this summer. The course runs from June 28th to August 16th. Vet Assistant I course cost $500, scholarships are available. Come to guidance for more information!
